John Abraham is a man divided

John Abraham is a man dividedJohn Abraham is a man divided. On the one end, Vipul Shah dangles the Force sequel at the newly-invented action star with added zeroes on his pay-cheque. On the other end John's friend and creative compatriot Nishikanth Kamath is all set to start a new film for another production house which has nothing to do with physical force.

Vipul Shah would now have to scout for another director to do Force 2. Force director Nishikant Kamath is doing a film for a new production house Love Action Comedy which is helmed by Amir Chandrra and Sanjay Routray.

Kamath was apparently committed to make a film for this production company even before Force was released. After the film's success Vipul Shah is keen to quickly start the Force sequel and has understandably enhanced Kamath's directorial fee.

But Kamath is not biting the bait.

Says the source, "Nishi has never repeated himself. All his films in Marathi and now Hindi are different genres. You can't compare Nishi's Mumbai Meri Jaan with his Force. He's now writing an out-and-out thriller with lots of special effects. And he wants John in it. "

John who has always supported unconventional directors (Anurag Kashyap in No Smoking, Nagesh Kukunoor in Aashayein) is torn between the will to be part of a successful franchise and the desire to go with his friend Nishikant Kamath's creative vision.

Says the source, "It's a tricky turf for John. Vipul cannot make Force 2 without John. Nishikant wrote his new film with John in mind. "

On being contacted Nishikant Kamath said, "I'm in the US right now. I am directing a psychological thriller for Love Action Comedy Films. Force 2, I would like to do but I've no subject. "
