Unlike other celebrities whose split is dogged by rumours of infidelity and extra-marital affairs, Kim Kardashian's announcement to file for divorce against her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, is being viewed as a cynical money making ploy. The 31-year-old TV personality's decision to file for a divorce is being analysed as a calculated move as it came just hours before her mother's book 'Kris Jenner and All Things Kardashian' was to go on sale. Amidst all the chaos, Kardashian promoted the family's new clothes store on Twitter, exhibiting a miscalculation of tone that she might live to regret as even her fans have started to question the reality behind the family's money-spinning soap opera. "Our store #KardashianKhaos is opening tomorrow at 9am at @TheMirageLV We are so excited!! Kardashian Khaos has arrived!' Kardashian Khaos indeed…" the Daily Mail quoted her as tweeting. Whatever the truth is, there is no doubt that her marriage to the 26-year-old professional basketball player has been lucrative for the Kardashian family as well as her abandoned spouse. The couple netted a whopping 18 million dollars during their wedding ceremony, out of which almost 15 million dollars is thought to have been TV rights which formed part of the family's exclusive deal with E!, meaning that the whole haul has earned the couple about 250,000 dollars per day. The happy couple also bagged 1 million dollars from People magazine for exclusive shots of the apparently joyous occasion excluding the value of numerous other magazine covers. Among others, the socialite was paid 500,000 dollars to host her bachelorette party at Tao in Las Vegas and the basketball player, who was earning around 40,000 dollars per game, has been hitting the quarter of a million mark each day since his marriage. |
