The actress' beau apparently wants steamy lip-lock scenes in 'The Dirty Picture' toned down
Vidya Balan's lip-locks in The Dirty Picture hasn't gone down too well with her beau, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, the CEO of a corporate production-distribution studio.
Word is that when reports of the star's smooch fest sequences with co-stars Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor appeared, the man in her life did raise the topic.
"Naturally, Siddharth wasn't too pleased about her kissing scenes and asked her why she agreed to shoot them, " revealed a source.
"Though it's also a fact that he doesn't interfere in Vidya's career, and let's her take her own decisions."
Adds the source, "Siddharth also tried asking Vidya if there was a way she could get the scenes in question toned down."
However a source associated with the film's producer Ekta Kapoor maintains that they're not toning down any scene.
He reasons, "The film is about the life of Silk Smitha sassy girl.
But there's also a good measure of dark humour, intense drama. So whatever Vidya's shot, is in keeping with the subject and her character."
Says director Milan Luthria, "It goes without saying that it's not a very easy scene to shoot. The film seeks to push the envelope further, that's the kind of clarity she and I share, right from the start.
She's very professional and everything went off fine. This is just one aspect of the movie, there are so many more. Nonetheless, there was no discomfort when she shot the scenes in question."
Whether Vidya asked to tone down the kissing scenes at the behest of her beau, Milan stated, "I've no knowledge of Vidya's personal life. We just discuss work. That's it."
